Oh, ha.

The New Yorker's "sentator hothead" McCain quiz.

Sample question:

1. What didRichard Kimball, John McCain’s opponent in his 1986 Senate race, doduring a debate that got McCain so upset that, according to his aideJay Smith, he “wanted to kill” Kimball?

(a) He pointed out that McCain had referred to the retirement community Leisure World as “Seizure World.”

(b) He revealed that McCain was standing on a riser behind his podium.

(c) He said, “I’m not the one who left his disabled first wife so he could marry a rich young beer heiress.”

A spoiler for that question: He was standing on a riser.

I officially don't care if Hillary or Obama wins the Democratic nomination, so long as McCain is never president.

In Hillary we have a woman who exudes hyper-competence who was more or less co-president for 8 years. She has a great health care plan and has visited both Afghanistan and Iraq (and knows enough about the situation that she's advocating we pay more attention to Afghanistan). We will have the president who left us with a balanced budget and a surplus as first husband.

In Obama, we will have the most charismatic candidate since JFK, a diplomat, a public speaker whose speech on racism is already being called one of the greatest speeches in American history and is currently being studied in colleges across the country. He's one of the tiny few who voted his principles and voted against our going into Iraq -- a move that gives him a hell of a lot of credibility.

It's an embarrassment of riches to have two great candidates at this time. In 1992, former President Clinton's campaign was already overshadowed with the Jennifer Flowers' sex scandal. Have we ever had two such remarkable Democratic candidates?

I was a strictly pro Obama supporter. But at this moment either one would be good. I wish they would just flip a coin for the nominee. So long as McCain doesn't get in.

Any and all respect if any I had for McCain was lost whem he answered a question about gays, and then after the commericial break after talking to his advisors changed his answer live on air.

Right or wrong pick an opinion and stay with it until someone can convince you different. Just don't change your mind because your handlers tell you to.
