The fandom turnout has been tepid, with only 5,000 around votes cast. Ohnotheydidnt has a list of 40,000 watchers.

Maybe you think this is a cardboard badge. Maybe you don't care.

But if you look at the comments in jameth's post and in ohnotheydidnt, jameth's pals are anti-fandom.

That's a very good point. And honestly? There were people in fandom who were initially rather amused and supportive of him. Initially. He obliterated the fandom vote when he accused first legomymalfoy and then her supporters (largely fandom) of cheating. That blunder alone would be enough to demonstrate that he doesn't have the political skill for this job.

I guess he was hoping that he could either undermine legomymalfoy's support (instead of consolidating it the way he has) or protect his own ego in the event of a loss.
