Beta? McShep Match story?

Crusing for Betas

Last week I was tapped to pinch-hit for mcshep_match. I have the story sketched out in very rough form (i.e., dialogue with minimal description typed in chat). I should have it ready for beta tomorrow. Hopefully. At this point it looks like it will be 10 to 20k words once I've fleshed it out.

Of course it's due, um, Saturday aha! Sunday.

Yes, yes, this Saturday Sunday, as in two-days-from-now three whole-days-from-now Sunday as in one-day-to-do-the-beta two-luxurious-days-to-do-the-beta Saturday Sunday. (Stop scowling at me, it's a pinch-hit and I wrote it during finals.)

Is anyone up for a pre-scheduled, fast-turnaround beta Friday or early Saturday? I don't have it ready now, but tomorrow, yes.

Ok, so the thing I was going to this weekend got cancelled, so don't worry about any deadline on my end of things. Go ahead and finish the story whenever you want, I will have a long and otherwise boring weekend in which to beta for you and the 200K words of BigBangs I have sitting on my hard drive. *eyeroll*

They say here you need to be done at the end of Sunday (http://community.livejournal.com/mcshep_match/34662.html). That would be Sunday, PST my time zone.

The good news is that I mostly wrote this in chat, so other than my struggles with the beginning, it's pretty much written. It just needs the individual scenes fleshed out with description, etc. The ground is plowed, pre-seeded, I just need to water and tend it into bloom. That's why it's going so fast.

Ummmm, ask me again after sgabigbangs are due, which is in another couple of weeks. I really mean it, I am interested, but my brain is a sieve, so don't rely on me to actually remember that I am interested. So, take a look through your stuff and find something you'd like read, and then get back to me? Would that be alright?

I just re-read this. Do people get attached to their teams? I fear I'm mostly thinking of the readership that the mcshep_match draws. *sheepish grin* It's one way to keep myself writing and my hat in the ring while I work on Out Of Bounds.

I can get attached to anything. Seriously, most items that I own have a gender, and some of them have names (I have a kitchen timer called Boris. I don't know why he's called Boris, but that's his name. He's round and solid and potentially unreliable). Mind you, it was pretty much a toss-up originally which team I went for, but now I've picked one I'd like it to win!

The readership was a plus for me too. I don't write much in SGA and I don't promote much/at all so it'd be nice to write something that more than one person read!

Hee. I'll work on that phrase chopping thing. It is a stylistic choice, but the reason for that choice is out of date, I think.
