icarus: (Happy Rodney by Monanotlisa)

For Out Of Bounds...

... I'm looking for an insulting Rodney-esque nickname to use on a skater who, in 1986, was an aging and somewhat too heavy has-been competing past his prime.

I offer home baked internet cookies, writing credit, and doe-eyed gratitude? Kind of stuck here.

Oh, ha. But he wasn't a has been then and as a Canadian, Rodney would idolize Elvis. It's almost a national prerequisite.

*g*

Corpulescent cowpie-cutter.

Senescent skat-ologist.

Hans Brinker's corpulent coach.

Elvis Stojko is a famous Canadian skater who held on there a long time. But in his final years he'd added the quad and was one of the few people who could do the quad Lutz.

Hmmmm.......Elvis Stojko. No wait, that's in the 90's. *is totally innocent*

Anyways, yes, the only thing I can think of is fiddlefart which basically means goofing off (a goof is another insult all together that has a ton of meanings).

Weren't there very hefty Disney characters that performed in the Disney on Ice shows?

Hmmmm. I think so. Oh! I looked it up and they performed Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1986.

Maybe they did Jungle Book....

No, I gotta shake loose from fixating on Disney for this slam. It's a nickname the press would have picked up. *writing around it for now*

Apparently they did perform the Jungle Book, but it was from 1995-2001. There's always Dumbo, that's an incredibly cruel classic.

Gordon Leadfoot?

The Human Cannonball?

Mr. Bojangles?

Maybe we can mock something else -- popping jumps (meaning blowing them and doing no jumpa at all)? Pop the Weasel?

Hmm. What about nursery rhymes?

Ahahaha so I really should've been more specific. I was thinking "Elvis Presley on ice."

Pop the Weasel sounds interesting and nursery rhymes? Oh boy,t here's a ton there. Something from Ding Dong Bell might work. Oh! Humpty Dumpty!

There might be too much sympathy in Mr. Bojangles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r3lonOn0ko).

What do you think? Not overweight, but definitely someone's who's history.

What do you think? I can change the character to not be overweight but just... history. A late great who's done.

I agree that there might be a bit too much sympathy in Mr.Bojangles, but it does have the elements that you`re looking for.

Hurm...

It's kind of obscure but there was that funky cartoon from 1980 Animalympics, I think that had a tubby chicken that was an ice dancing partner with a thing lizard...or I could just be having an acid flashback...
