In the market for a new, slashy fandom?

In the market for a new show?
20thcenturyvole pimps the new Merlin most effectively.
It was the word "Prague" that caught my eye.
Now working on another scene of Out Of Bounds. Rolling right along, rolling, rolling, rolling.

There are several reasons why you should be watching this show. It's a hella fun take on Arthurian legend which, like Robin Hood, is an attempt by the BBC to fill the Doctor Who slot and please the same target audience - but unlike Robin Hood, Merlin actually rocks. It has an awesome cast, including John Hurt as a dragon - yes, the smug-looking one in my icon - and Anthony Stewart Head as Uther Pendragon. And, only four episodes into the first season, it has an epic slash quotient only comparable to Smallville - except, as I said before, it actually rocks.
Intrigued yet? Not on dial-up? Hooray!

Date: 2008-10-19 03:09 am (UTC)Though, I might have enjoyed the above quote more if it hadn't required dissing other shows to pimp Merlin (bc I've been calling it Smallville in Camelot in my mind exactly because it's as marvelous as SV was for me that first season :)

Date: 2008-10-19 03:39 pm (UTC)It will also appear - when you get to episode 4 - that Uther has probable backstory with Nimueh. *G*
As I say - not close to the legend, but they're leaving loads of intriguing loose ends all over the place, and I'm hoping at least some of them will get happily tied up.

Date: 2008-10-20 05:45 am (UTC)I actually have about 40 pages of Out Of Bounds to post soon, but there has been this "hinge" or "lynch pin" scene that's been giving me a spot of trouble.
