Harry: Damn it, Percy, why'd you have to keep on about it? It's Ron's business, not anyone else's...and definitely not yours. And if I find out you've mentioned it to anyone...in particular Hermione or anyone else in your family, I'll hex your bloody bollocks off and owl them to Lucius Malfoy for his own personal use.

I'm not joking either. Just so you know, Snape already taught me that particular Dark curse back when we were training to defeat Voldemort. Thought it might come in handy with a Death Eater or two.

I assure you that there is nobody who has more discretion than myself. Might I point out that it is very childish and immature to make threats. I've always said they are the last resort of those with a weak argument - I point to Ron's old 'friends' Goyle and Crabbe as exhibit A.

That said, you're awfully proud of your knowledge of the Dark Arts it seems.

Percy of course is on his own planet.

What's really going on with Percy is that his job's in the shitter, he's hanging on by his fingernails. He's both jealous of Harry's good fortune - he told Ron Harry could be Minister like *that* - and frustrated to see Harry piss everything away on Quidditch and the 'bad press' of being publicly gay.

Everything Percy wants (has worked so hard for with no success), Harry could have easily, but Harry's casually thrown it away. To Percy that's just - ugh!

So he's taking petty swipes at Harry, in his own job frustration.

Percy's looking back at his days with Lucius fondly, as the good old days when he had power and things were looking up. He's actually forgotten what it was really like.

Now that Percy has a LiveJournal, he has what he told Ron was "a weird little window in everyone's busy little lives, and my life... Anyhow..." The Journal's made aware of his loneliness; it didn't solve it.

But not bad enough not to let Harry get a bit snarky in return. *grin*

He's a bit perplexed by Percy right now. He likes him, but he's always been a bit put-off by Percy's disapproving attitude. He can't figure out how Percy could belong in the same family as his best friend. And now he's irritated by what he perceives as Percy being a prat towards Ron. (Harry tends to get quite defensive when it comes to his friends...)

Thanks for the insight, Icarus. It helps to know where Percy's coming from. :)
