Sigh. WG's back from the doctor. They took X-rays.

He didn't declare his injury at work and now the 72 hours to report it have passed. He has a feeling that the chiropractor would want him to not do the heavy lifting at work if it were at all possible (it isn't). He's had to put the kabosh (kibosh?) on his weight lifting.

He's depressed. He doesn't think he can keep doing this kind of work indefinitely and yet doesn't know what else he can do. The current economy doesn't help. Six months ago he was planning to do this job for the next six years. Now....

I'm poking at school with a stick. I finish my English degree next quarter in the midst of the worst economy in decades. Great. Between work, school, injuries, layoffs, the economy, the decisions I have to make, we're both too maxed to help each other.

Wrote a little more fic. Because putting fic on hold for school doesn't work out. And because some happiness would be nice.

www.factcheck.org Tells us that Republican claims that the stimulus bill is full of earmarks are bullshit.

But the stimulus is largely a middle class rescue bill.

It has money for Pell grants, for people like me. It has extended unemployment benefits. And it has construction projects to replace temporarily work lost due to the housing crisis. It has money to keep teachers working which will help me, and is necessary because of lost property taxes due to the housing crisis. It is a bandaid bill, not a job stimuls package. But it's needed. And needed most by people like me and WG. Don't believe the lies that it's full of earmarks. It's full of packages that Republicans traditionally don't support i.e., things that help the middle class.
