Save the temple: telethon again tonight

As most of you know, my Buddhist temple is in trouble. The bank suddenly called in the note, demanding full payment of $250,000 by Thursday close of business. Yes. Tomorrow. The letter arrived last Saturday.

Thank you all for helping so much. And for spreading the word.

The first day the individual temple members raised $69,000. More donations poured in on Monday and Tuesday. Last night $30,000 was raised in an online telethon.

We're a little less than half-way there at $109,000.

A temple of course is just a building. What matters is what the temple does. In this case what you're saving is:

A 24-hour prayer vigil that's been going 24/7 for the last 25 years.

A bird sanctuary for abandoned exotic birds.

A Buddhist temple with stupas and monuments that can't exactly be packed up and moved.
