Strangely, being with a cross-dressing fiance seemed less private than being Buddhist. Maybe because fandom--especially slash fandom--is a cross-dressing friendly place, but Buddhism is weird here.
I don't know.
I have a lot going on, but most of it's temple stuff I don't think anyone cares about.
Retreat is coming up, and the Dalai Lama's coming to town, and I was offered a scholarship to Nitartha Institute to study Tibetan.
*facepalm* But they're all scheduled at the same time.
*sigh* Anyone want tickets to see the Dalai Lama in DC?
Working on a nonfiction project, have a deadline on a fiction project, and I have a new fandom (yes! and finally!). The snugglesome times continue with S. (New nickname: kitten.)
Summer work hours have begun. I now tutor at 9am and leave the office at 5:30pm. Note to self: do not take the expressway home. Traffic different at 10pm. Note that I'm up at 3am. Note to self: transition to daylight hours, o vampire.
Randomness:
Great moment is interview with a student in a film about the late great Trungpa Rinpoche (one of the wilder figures of Tibetan Buddhism): "But all the bed hopping. Wasn't that terrible?"
She sighed. "You've got to understand. It was the 70s. That was normal. The big deal was when Kalu Rinpoche came and he told us to wear suits."
