Deer vandals?

icarusMom stepped outside to find that someone had torn out all the flowers.
Well!
She's had The Ex vandalize her car, but when his paramour (as mom terms her) passed away, the vandalism slowly tapered off. But now little silk flowers had been torn out of the mailbox planter and scattered on the ground.
Needless to say, she was upset.
Then the other day, the local deer got into the garden, nibbling away (as they do). That same day she found the silk flowers torn out out of the mailbox planter again.
Lesson one: deer like flowers.
Lesson two: deer don't learn the first time they turn out to be silk. Ptooie!
