It looks like it's crossover day. (More or less.)
My
astolat addiction continues apace, with two Sam/Dean stories I enjoyed:
Old Country, R, Sam/Dean, Supernatural/Harry Potter crossover
I so buy this premise and I really shouldn't. But the best part is Dean's reaction to magic in all its forms and his... let's just call it stubbornness, shall we? (Sam makes a great Slytherin. Dean's house is so perfect, I'm not going to tell you what it is.) Very fun story. And the ending has that "you want to wring the Wizarding world's necks" pure Harry Potter feel.
Kings and Queens and Jokers, Too, NC-17, Sam/Dean
I love how we know what's going on even as they don't. In fact, I love how the gas station attendent knows what's going on and they don't. You see, the trouble started when Sam and Dean put away a trickster....
My latest SGA discovery...
eleveninches. I know I'm late. But I have to imprint on my mind the name of any author who blows up the United States.
There's No Such Thing As Daniel Jackson, John/Rodney, SGA/SG-1 AU crossover
Now this is cooooool. As well as hilarious. I'm not sure how
eleveninches manages to take a post-apocalyptic world and make it funny, but John has a lot to do with that. Because John Sheppard, sans black mark or even any reason for a black mark, is a lackadaisical, easy-going, disconnected sort of guy with high scores on his XBox. The knid of guy who'll note that nuclear winter sucks because it's pretty cold outside but is generally optimistic about things. That's just the way he is. The plot is gripping and original, but what I loved best was seeing John in a completely different life turn into the John we all know.
School has started up again so... busy, busy. So far Sanskrit is still manageable, but I'm going to be up late reading Chinese history.
