The world's worst parallel parker.
Mar. 15th, 2009 04:05 pmFYI, the Greek History class continues to be torture. I've yet another prompt that baby-steps the writer into writing exactly what the professor wants to hear.
But it's almost over. One 10-page essay, and it's over.
ETA: About halfway through that essay. Taking a break from it.
Enjoy the world's worst parallel parker. Hee. Okay, not parallel parking. But WG and I counted seven attempts.

VID: Becoming A Hero. Yes!
May. 13th, 2008 02:22 pmYes!
amothea has finished her vid for me for Sweet Charity. Sheppard centric (of course).
Download it here: Becoming A Hero
Or watch it on imeem: Becoming A Hero
This is our John, first season John, confused and awed by Atlantis, then slowly coming into his own as a leader and a soldier.
amothea's images of Atlantis are sweeping and grand, like Brian Tyler's music: larger than life.
Look. Comment, comment. She's done some beautiful work here. Yeah, this is why we love Sheppard.
I confess, I don't like many vids (and most of the ones I like are Sheppard centric, hmm). I hoped I would like hers but I wasn't sure. Now I'm one happy camper.
ETA: You know what this vid reminds me of? Firefly.

Out Of Bounds Vid!
Jan. 23rd, 2007 01:37 pmThe skating fic has a story. Er. Is a story.
It has a soundtrack.
It has some gorgeous cover art by
teaphile.
Now I'm sure all of you were thinking, "What Out Of Bounds really needs is a figure skating vid with cool shots of John competing and training," ideally by
starrylizard.
Pling!
Your wish has been granted, and she has made my day (and given permission for me to link).

Skating AU: Christopher Bowman vids
Mar. 31st, 2006 11:07 amChristopher Bowman, the Showman
Here are a few routines by Christopher Bowman, a skater who reminds me of Rodney's (waaaay AU) style of skating in Out Of Bounds… his solid, energetic body language, sense of drama, flirting with the camera (okay, maybe Chris is a little more silly than Rodney but not by much). Scott Hamilton's remark really sums him up: "Chris Bowman doesn't compete for medals. He competes so he can perform in the Gala of Champions."
I like that he all but wears a banner that says "I am the gayest skater you have ever seen, bar none. Watch me!"
Christopher Bowman the Showman – 1991 Skate America Gala 'California Dreamin'
This is hot. Very hot.
Christopher Bowman the Showman – 1991 Skate America Gala 'Bad Boy'
The starting pose alone will crack you up, especially considering the last part of Out Of Bounds.
Christopher Bowman the Showman – 1992 Olympics Gala version of 'Bad Boy'
I couldn't decide which version to give you, so I'm offering both. This one has more energy and fire.
To explain the 'Bad Boy' theme, Chris Bowman has the rep of being skating's bad boy.
Why?
Welllll... you could credit things like the time he got beat up during a drug deal gone bad in Toronto. Or you might note his shaking his ass at the judges as part of his skating routines. Or, in terms of competition, you might notice his last-minute tendency to throw in big jumps he couldn't even land in practice – to disastrous effect. So maybe the skating federation is red-faced over Bowman, but he's a lot of fun to watch.

You need to join the group to download videos but they have everything, and it's beautifully organized. Thank you,
sevenall for letting us know, and
fleurrochard for many helpful skating links. (Yeah, I got everyone's names mixed up at first. I do that in person, too.)
