So many of us are unable to read IYAP more than once. For weeks after I read it I wished I hadn't - it was just too painful. I wonder how those who have read it more than once were able to do that? I know it would cheapen the story to have an alternative ending but hell, this is fanfiction - doesn't that by definition mean we can have what we want? : ) In my head it has a happy ending.

With me, usually what happens is I think of something that happened in IYAP, then I go back and read that part, then I get caught up in it and keep reading. The last chapter makes me cry every time, but the ending always leaves me hopeful again. There are just so many wonderful things about this story that it's worth the agony of the ending.

And now I'm doing it again... I just read chapters 5 through 9 of part 3. I can't stop.
