I have to second Dark Side of Light, because it's different, and it's so much darker. I love UL, of course, and think it's completely amazing, but many of the best H/D fics have a lot of similarities, and UL is no exception. Sometimes I really want a little variety, and, well, UL doesn't fulfil that. :)

I liked Shadow and Flame, too (especially considering how convincing it was, with the Ron/Pansy pairing), but it was too short for me to really get into it, and the all-dialogue aspect of Dark Side of Light can be (and was, in this case!) really intriguing if it's done well. Just stylistically, Dark Side of Light had a lot more to offer than some of the other fics, I think.

Draco Malfoy and the Amazing Bouncing...Rat? really wasn't one of my favorite, somehow. I never really knew why, I just never enjoyed it or thought it was as funny as much of the fandom seemed to. *shrug*

I'd say UL, but it's unfinished. DMtAB...R? is the first fic to ever make me laugh until my stomach hurt. Your Every Wish is one of the first fics to make me feel like someone took a crowbar to my stomach (a good thing!). Her Zacharias/Draco trilogy with its extremely angry/hilarious Harry kills me every time I re-read.

But. Dark Side of Light gets my vote. The imagery. The fact that it's all dialogue. The bit with Hermione and Harry at the end. Gah. Just wonderful.

Can anyone tell I'm a Maya fan? Oh yes. Such a Maya fan.

Pouring my vote for The Professionals Guide to Badgering Simply because it was the first Maya's piece I've read. And it's oh so brilliant and very funny. And it started my woobie ♥ campaign for Zach Smith. And put the Huffie House in a new light.

It's beautiful. It's horrible. It's achingly sweet and twisted in the most disturbing way. I could identify with both the characters, hating Harry for loving Draco too much. I pitied Harry for never knowing what was real, and Draco for being a victim of love. And could I ever understand prefering a lie I told myself to the truth, even as the world splintered around me! It was the darkest, most horrific H/D I've ever read, and I usually run screaming from D/H.
