Twin peaks of backpacks
Jul. 3rd, 2004 10:12 amHoly cow.
wildernessguru and his buddy, T. aka "The Puppy," are heading out to the woods for five days.
Their packs look like they're going for a month.
I was up until 4am last night bagging up the meals, but at every turn the boys went with the heavier item. Since I don't know how much T. eats, I had to do a bit of overkill, too.
"Yeah," says T., "I think we're gonna be throwing things into the woods, man."
Jesus. These guys are gonna hurt.

Date: 2004-07-03 10:46 am (UTC)I only went for a weekend, but took enough to look after an entire squadron of people - I learned my lesson quite quickly so, next time, it's only the bare essentials for me!
And yes, they will hurt...
No kidding! But some people never learn.
Date: 2004-07-03 11:08 am (UTC)T., on the other hand, is a virtual backpack virgin. But.. as a personal fitness trainer, he might be all right.
Maybe better than The Guru.
