Hi all! Guess what? My site's been updated with a translation of Beg Me For It in German by Marijke. (The English version is here.)

I treasure this one especially, because it's probably the only one I have any hope of understanding.

Beg Me For It and Scarred are also available in Chinese, thanks to Alex, and Drunken Domesticity (English version here) is available in Thai, thanks to Choco. The Russian translation of Hagrid's Hut unfortunately seems to be lost for good.

Let that be a lesson for us all: always get an .html copy of your translations. I was a very new author when this one was done, hadn't even finished Primer to the Dark Arts, and I didn't know any better.

Alex, our Chinese translator, had originally intended to translate the entire Beg Me For It series, but she's since moved on to another fandom. Is there anyone who'd like to pick up where she left off? She's done the first and last part of the series. Heck, I'd be happy to see those drabbles translated.

I'm pretty lucky in that. That Hagrid's Hut translation blows the idea that only "big name" authors who've "made it" get translated. Because that was done before anyone had ever heard of me.

Primer was my second HP fanfic, and it wasn't posted anywhere outside of ff.net at that point, and was still unbeta'd when the translator found Hagrid's Hut on the Harry and Ron Yahoo group and liked it.

If you remember who translated "Hargrid's Hut" in Russian for you or where it was originally posted, I'll try to find a copy through the Russian search engines or archives. Was the translated title "В Хижине Хагрида" or "Хижина Хагрида"?

Thank you, that's great -- I'll see if I can find it. It's been about two years, but I did find the translator's email about eight months ago.

Wow, you're becoming a real celebrity Icarus. XD If you want, I could translate any fic of yours to Dutch. I really feel Dutch fans should read better fanfics than the ones we got now (Major MS and OOC stories >.<).

I think the fact that Hagrid's Hut was translated back in 2002 proves that celebrity status has nothing to do with it - no one had heard of me then. People from other countries just like a particular story and they go through the effort of translating.

That's sounds great. What pairings do you tend to read? The ones that come to mind are Guy Talk (http://www.home.earthlink.net/~dinkbird/stories/guytalk.html) and Cursed Artefacts For Sale (http://www.home.earthlink.net/~dinkbird/stories/cursedartefacts.html), just because they're humour and they tend to go over well. Though there's also A Moment Of Sin (http://www.home.earthlink.net/~dinkbird/stories/amomentofsin.html).

R/D is of course my absolute fave! But basically I accept any pairing except R/Hr, D/Hr and H/D (can't stand those, sorry, they're everywhere >.<). Just tell me which fic you'd like translated first and I'll work on it. :)
