I have great story bunnies, plots sketched all the way out, only need the details filled in. I have energy and time. Yet every time I set down to type, I can't get started.

Takes off head. Rattles it. Really can't figure out what's wrong.

But I did write the NC-17 verion of the 'Midnight' chapter from Primer to the Dark Arts for Walking the Plank. Ah... now I have to find if it's actually better than the R version. Anyone wanna vote?

Remember, place filthy, over the top outrageous... or sentive and wonderful... NC-17 fic recommendations here! And be sure to click on the comments from two days. Awesome fics, folks, just awesome.

Hi Isis, my email has temporarily bitten the dust. But I did get your comments, and have incorporated the changes. CLS insists that we redo the R-rated version to incorporate most of the NC-17, and agrees with you - there's a lot of character development in it.

The silver-stuff... hm. I intended for everyone to get the image of Snape struggling with and spilling it on the way out to the clearing. But it is in the subtext and there's no real way to bring that out without messing with the suspense and pacing. While Snape is very impressed himself with his talent for the Dark Arts, the way he loses control of it on the way there, and loses track of Harry, tells the real story. Never believe a man who's bragging. *wink*

I'll reply here in case you're still having email troubles. How about having Harry make the connection a little more explicitly, in noticing that the stuff in the cauldron appears to be the same as the stuff he'd been avoiding on the way in? He doesn't even have to explicitly think anything about Snape's loss of control, although it might be amusing for him to do so.

Of course, it's possible that everyone else who reads it will be less dense than I am and figure it out immediately.
