Snape Manor

Woah. I've just spent the last [insert ridiculous number because I lost count] of hours talking to cordelia_v about Snape Manor. She now knows the entire plot as it stands now, and why I've been struggling with it.

Do I want to write this story? Even after two years it continues to haunt me.

Am I the last person to read In Between Days by atrata? Because if I'm not and you haven't, you must read this, as it's the finest, most uncompromisingly relentless characterisation of Snape I've ever read. Snape/Harry, NC-17.

For the time being, I'm off to write Percy/Snape. Or perhaps Jack/Daniel, I'm not sure which, but I'm writing something today.

That would... that would work, actually. The results would be scary though.

The last collaboration I did was Fanning The Flames (Lucius/Percy, never polished up really, beta became too busy). sparrohawk played Lucius. The results were so intense we could barely speak to each other without blushing for... months.

No one asked me, but I'm quite sure your Snape POV would work. But Aubrem will murder me if I encourage you to take on one more thing before your Reversathon story is finished, oh yes.

But after that . . . I believe I can promise that the betas wouldn't flake out on you two, this time.

Heh. Yeah, there's the reversathon coming up, and nights_nothings, plus a couple of other ficathons I've kind of welshed on. And, you know, IBD2. Some of those things are going to have to get taken care of before I take on another project, regardless of its kickassness. :)

:D See? Keep it in mind after your slate is cleared -- and let's have a peek at the changes Book six brings.

The challenge is this: in truth, the D/S relationship doesn't work unless the Dom and sub are equals, or the sub is, in the outside world, in a slightly superior position. I know this goes against the fantasy, but speaking from my experience it's the only way it works.

Otherwise there's no need for the roleplay, the reality takes care of it, and a truly inequal relationship is ultimately frustrating for the Dom.

I'm not even remotely worried about your Severus voice, atrata.

I'm cautiously optomistic, saying yes, once your projects are cleared. I don't feel like writing straight porn, but something else, something with plot, yes.
