SGA fans, once you're done chortling could you please dole out the fic?

Am I the only one who finds LJ's new layout frightening?

Okay, I can stop stalling now and confess: I have a steaming pile of crow to eat, with a side order of lightly seasoned hat (fleece cap, thanks for asking).

I just spent two days reading SGA (Stargate Atlantis) fic. I was late for class becausse I couldn't tear myself away from astolat's A Beautiful Lifetime Event and I've already read Oblivious twice. I only remember the names of those two stories because:

a) they're already favorites, and
b) I'd finally slowed down in my insatiable fic-gorging long enough to read the titles.

I have fallen helplessly for Rodney McKay. With a side order of Sheppard. I confess, I've been (shame faced) watching the show (first season) on Saturday nights, just to get another glimpse of McKayness.

For three weeks.

But I was sure I could quit any time. Absolutely positive. After all, hadn't I pointed out that the production values were weak, the acting largely laughable, and... oh hell.

I have a great idea though. I'm sure I can break my addiction by reading lots of McKay/Sheppard fic (shut up, you know it'll work and if it doesn't, think of the benefits!).

Fandom, Stargaters, rec me your favorite McKay/Shep fics as a form of, uh, immersion/aversion therapy. Yeah, that's what it is.

Okay...on with the recs.

Over The Edge & Under The Skin by Danvers (sdraevn) I know Under The Skin got rec'd, but if they gave you Danver's journal version, you won't know about the prequel, which I just love. (She just wrote Over The Edge recently. Good stuff. Funny, but has some wonderful moments, as well. (The line about how Rodney and Atlantis light up to the same touch just gives me shivers.)

Retrograde by ltlj This one has the current SG-1 in it, but it's mostly a story about SGA and Jack. Except for the fact that Cameron Mitchell is in it, I don't think it spoils any of Season 9, at all. This fic had me on the edge of my seat, everytime, waiting for the next part. But it's completed, now. I linked you to part VI, but the other 5 parts are linked at the top of the page.

Okay, I hope I got some in there that you haven't gotten yet. Most of these are on my list for my rec journal, or are already on it, so you know I like them all. Enjoy!



Oh, yeah. I know you said you weren't that worried about getting spoiled for this one, but have you seen any Season Two yet? I think Ronon is now my favorite character on SGA...well...maybe it's a tie - kind of hard to give up the Shep. But there are some good Ronon fic out there ( I happen to have saved pretty much every one I've come across, so if you want any Ronon/anyone fic, I got the recs!

By the way...part of the reason I had this many recs to hand is your fault. If I hadn't started a recs journal, I'd never have kept all my faves in one place like this! You should see the list I have for SG-1 fics. I'm trying to spread them out, but I've got more than for any other fandom I'm rec'ing...gotta love the J/D.

LOL! I've only seen what's out in syndication which is the first few episodes of SGA. That means although I've run across Ronon in stories he doesn't mean anything to me as a character. We'll have to save Ronon for later. He's wasted on me right now.
