I have a million things I must do, a half a million I've promised to do, and another dozen or so that are unimportant but I'd like to do and would probably do first if I had the mind to do so.
Instead, I am aimlessly dinking around on the internet. Why?
Because I am high.
Alas, it is from a steroid inhaler which (apparently) makes me buzzed for three hours and counting, a small smile plastered to my face, and the attention span of gnat. And bizarre floaty mood swings, let's not forget the floaty mood swings.
"Oh, here's an article on Bush... oh this is bad, bad..." *goes into vague annoyance-like anger*
"Hmm, a post about turning a story into 128 pt. font, how cute..." *inane moment of disproportionate lingering glee*
"Oh dear, such and so hasn't emailed me..." *vague, fugue-like depression*
Why do people get high deliberately? I feel unproductive.

Date: 2006-10-22 11:56 pm (UTC)This solves the question of why people take the drug worst for them. If I had a choice, despite the fact that, yes, hyper is my middle name, I would pick the drug that made me learn 10 impossible things before breakfast and not this floaty buzzy stuff.
I'm looking at this thing wondering if there's an inhaler that's more like an upper, and less like, hmmm, I'm sniffing glue.

What does SNL stand for?

Date: 2006-10-23 02:57 am (UTC)I can kind of understand getting high deliberately, though, because I'm a funny drunk--in that, even if I'm only a little buzzed, everything is funny liek whoa. And an appropriate occasion for singing. But alcohol is the only drug I'm not too scared to try, with the possible exception of LSD--I'd do that once, just to see what happens. (It can't be too much worse than my usual roster of dreams, right?)

Date: 2006-10-23 04:11 am (UTC)I'm just... overly talkative when I'm drunk. Which, since I'm overly talkative when I'm not drunk, doesn't make for much of a change (except, apparently, I'm a little more giggly and child-like).
