I was a little bored. And, wow, my life had gone to shit, right? I figured I could use nine months off, to think things over.

But I guess you'll find it all worthwhile with the change in your sex life. A lot of men like it. Well, unpregnant males anyway.

But you know, I'd love to see what kind of child you and Draco would make...

Red-haired, I hope! I love my kids, but they do all look like my wife - brown hair and brown eyes. I don't want you to take that wrong. They're my kids, you know? She can have the house, everything, I just want to see my kids however, whenever. No schedules of when I can't. That was my only condition on the divorce.

Draco thought I should have fought for more, though he understands, what with his little girl and all.

Heh. You should see Fred amd George's little tykes. No two look they're even from the same family. Fred's little girl, Zorella? She's even sort of light-skinned black. Weirdly enough, Percy and Ginny's kids are all redheads. Funny how genes work, isn't it?

You know Ron, I wanted to ask you before I go, what will happen after the child is born? I mean, what will that mean for you and Draco? Have you discussed that? And what about your role in his/her life?

Now that's cheating. There's a whole other story coming with that!

What I can tell you is, well... I've struggled my whole life, and I'm pretty happy that a kid of mine would be the heir to the Malfoy fortune.

When you're younger you don't care about stuff like that, but now that I'm in my 30s, I know I'm never going to have any money. Let's be honest. You're a parent, you understand me. There's nothing you want more than to be sure that your kids are taken care of. I've been pretty good, I think, at making sure my kids are happy, but providing for them has been rough even with both of us working and only four kids.

I now understand some of what my parents went through. I can't imagine school robes and books for seven kids! And Fred and George doubling the expenses right before me. No wonder I got a little less than, say, Percy. It makes sense now, though it just seemed unfair at the time.

I think Draco has the makings of a really rotten parent of course. Amazing his daughter came out as well as she did, though fortunately she had the same nanny for years I understand. But I can handle the parenting end of the bargain no doubt.
