Where are all the good 2007 SGA fics?
Aug. 23rd, 2007 07:29 pmRec me!
I'm looking for all the great 2007 Stargate Atlantis fics.
I've read
fiercelydreamed's marvelous "Unidentified" and some of the SGA Big Bang fics. I've been enjoying stories like "Catch-19" and the "Blue Moon Ball" (authors unknown) from the SGA Olympics or whateveritscalled. I devoured the closing of
auburnnothenna's brilliant "In The City Of Seven Walls" and her fascinating John/Vala fic, and I've poked around the kissing meme and the belly-fic meme. Naturally I've enjoyed the latest updates to
sheafrotherdon's "Farm In Iowa" series. But... surely I must be missing something? Some of my rec-sources have dried up of late.
Maybe I should take out a personal ad:

Maybe I should take out a personal ad:
SGA fic reader seeks compelling John/Rodney, John/Lorne, or John/pretty-much-anyone fics.
Enjoy light-hearted romance, comedy, and exploration by the sea -- but not adverse to adventure and stories that make me think.
I floss and am looking to try something new!
Will rec!

Date: 2007-08-26 07:26 pm (UTC)I tried Aegis and it wasn't to my taste. The idea was interesting, and I liked some of the Gifts they picked (Bates knowing whenever someone lied was inspired, and Sumner's almost primal gift was cool). But the story feels stretched, like the authors were struggling to make it longer than it wanted to be. I finally gave up at the suicide.

Date: 2007-08-26 07:42 pm (UTC)Ah, I download, format and read off paper. There's no way my back or eye sight would support reading fic on line.
You could always save it as a text file and read it off Word. (I say, subtly encouraging the reading of this story again *g*)

Date: 2007-08-29 02:36 am (UTC)If you still don't like the colours, then go Tools -- Options -- Content -- Text and click the colorbox to chose black, then Background and click the colorbox, then chose white (or, as I prefer, a light pastel).
Then "OK" your way out and your screen should be good.
Note, though, that this will affect all your tabs until you switch it off again.
There's also a menu button, which I think comes in one of the menu button extensions (I have two installed and don't know which it's from) that turns this on/off for just the tab you're on at the time.
For Windows, you need to look in Internet Options (or maybe Browser Options - the name changes sometimes w/different versions), where there's a Text & Background control on the first page/tab of the menu popup.
If you're using a different browser (or a Mac), you're on your own. Best luck from one owner of aging eyes to another. *g*
ps ... I also thank you for the making the post. Mmmm, fic links!
