icarus: (Happy Rodney by Monanotlisa)

Apparently there's a gay porn company that does "Gay For Pay" porn videos.

They pay young straight guys who've never had gay sex $4,000 to be filmed their first time with a guy. (One time only, obviously.)

I have so got to see this. Oh my god, how vulnerable these guys must be. Wow, that sounds hot.

Can I pay someone $4,000 internet dollars to write a fic where John does gay-for-pay as a young Air Force pilot? And Rodney sees it years later and thinks John really is gay, but John isn't, he only did it that one time and it was for four grand which was a lot of money. And then Rodney offers John four grand now and John slams the door in his face? And Rodney's outside the door saying, "But there won't even be any cameras! I think it should be a grand less just for that!"

P.S. Just saw Daedalus Variations. Excellent creative idea. Tense and action-packed. I did not know how they were going to get out of this alive. I'm reminded of last year's run of fics where John or Rodney bounces from one alternate reality to another, one where Rodney finds himself dealing with a different John every 24 hours, another where John finds himself confronted with a married Rodney, a third where Rodney gets thrown into an alternate reality where John's a woman and separated from that universe's Rodney... were there more? This is a job for... *steps into phone booth* [livejournal.com profile] sgagenrefinders! *that was funnier in my head*

- John giving himself the pep talk, oh, hee. I can just see John's thinking there: "I know his commanders never praise this guy, and let's face it, we can't blame them. But it's nice to hear once in a while, even if it's from -- more or less -- himself. Not that he'll ever know that, which makes all the difference--wait. He thinks I'm a great commander and pilot, too? And he doesn't know it's me? Gosh."

- Thank you SGA for not making Ronon instantly fabulous at video games the railgun.

- I'm impressed that John made the right call getting involved in that universe's fight. I thought it was a bad mistake on his part.

- Geeze those grey guys were hard to kill. Total rip-off of Battlestar Galactica with the crash-boarding there, but ripping off the best is always a good idea.

- Love that Rodney still wants to make that device. Proof enough that he designed it in the first place.

- Hooray Zelenka! Hooray Chuck! Hooray Lorne!

- Rodney as father scares John? You and me both, pal, you and me both.

Now I want to finish that fic where John fathers kids all over the Pegasus galaxy. I can't explain why.

Re: JS fathering kids all over Pegasus.

If Atlantis ever runs out of trade goods...they can put Col. John Sheppard out to stud. I bet they'd have a lot of takers. And Rodney would complain that everyone wants the pretty boy genes, and no one wants the genius brain genes.

John said, "You did what?"

Teyla took a deep breath. She hadn't anticipated an objection. Colonel Sheppard was a man after all, and this sort of request, although highly unusual, wasn't unexpected given the Thiireian's circumstances. Besides, it was a good deal. "It would take very little effort on your part, and then Atlantis would be supplied for the entire year."

"You said I'd do what?" John repeated.

"All of their men were taken by the Wraith to punish them for their disobedience," Teyla reminded him. "It would be a generous act on your part."

"You did-- how did you become my pimp all of the sudden?"

Ronon sheathes his gun. "I don't know why you're complaining. Hell, I'll do it if he won't."

Teyla cringed. That was the expected response. "Unfortunately the... agreement... was for Colonel Sheppard."

Woolsey looked between them, blinking. "It is a very good deal. One might even say a bargain. An entire year's supplies for just...." He spread his hands.

John shook a finger at him. At all of them. "You know, if Elizabeth were here she'd have something to say about ethics and lines being crossed."

"Hmm," Rodney mused. "If you don't think you can do it, well, I did just break up with--"

"I didn't say I couldn't, I said that--! You're all aware that this crazy, right?"

They blinked at one another.

"Never mind," John said in disgust.

After the meeting broke up, Teyla approached Rodney. "Thank you, Rodney. That was well-timed."

"Nothing like an insult to his masculinity to get him to pony up and take one for the team. Coffee was included in that deal, right?" Rodney brightened.

"Of course."

"You told him about the--?" Rodney spun his hand in place of speaking.

"The public nature of the event? I felt it wise to leave the details for later."

"I'm going to sell tickets on the Puddlejumper," Rodney said. "I wonder what the load weight is...."

Oh. Oh my. This is *perfect.* Did you just write it?

You, the whole conversation seems so *reasonable* on Atlantis.

Did you just write it?

Oh yes, indeed, just for you.

It is reasonable. Isn't it? *stands in line for tickets*

Brilliant! I love how everyone is just so laidback about the idea, except for John. Heh.

There's something of a difference between Woolsey and Elizabeth's command styles.

There's a story like this--well, there's a couple of stories like this, not that the world doesn't want MORE--where it's much more tragic; the same idea but in a really dark key. John DOES have to put out for Atlantis and he's totally fucked up about it. It'll come to me.

It'll come to me. It'll-- *goes to SGA_storyfinders*

Given the line turns several corners I can see why you would be confused, but yes, yes it is.
