Instrumental music hunt.
Jan. 25th, 2009 05:58 pmWorking on the music for John's competitors for the long program.
I have John's music for the short and long program (of course). I (probably) have all the necessary competitor's short program music. I have all but one of the needed music for the long program.
I've got most of the music, but I'm looking for a "bouncy" piece (can't have any lyrics) that's 4:30 minutes or longer. I need something with "pep." Could be classical, jazz, flamenco, or rock instrumental.
(I had to delete some practice music because it came out after 1999.)
Any ideas? Thoughts? Those who follow figure skating, anything I could steal from this year's competitions?

Date: 2009-01-26 03:49 am (UTC)Oh! Since you are that level of fan? Did YOU recognize the music that Alexei Yagudin used as his black-and-gold exhibition piece in 2000, the one that practically melted the ice, he was so hot? I asked him DIRECTLY (he trained in Simsbury, he came into the Wild Oats where I worked, I worked up my courage to approach him) and he said he didn't know, his coach found it somewhere.
I would so love to know that. We speculated it was Dead Can Dance.

Date: 2009-01-26 04:15 am (UTC)Here's a complete listing of his exhibition programs from 1999 on, but I don't know what costume he wore with which.
1997/1998 - Mack The Knife, The Big Parade
1998/1999 - Beat It, Somewhere In My Broken Heart, The Rose, Circus
1999/2000 - Broken Arrow, Nutrocker (wore what looks like it might be gold and black, hard to tell), For You, September Morning, Tosca, We Are The Champions, Nessun Dorma feat. Vanessa Mae,
2000/2001 - Gladiator, Stand By Me, My Baby You, Santa
2001/2002 - Overcome (skated in black), Rock N' Roll, Racing, Close To You, Tango, The Typewriter
2002/2003 - Studz (A Little Less Conversation), Feelings
The thing is, he reuses a lot of his older programs. So you might see something in 2000 but the first time he debuted it would have been two years earlier. And Yagudin is always melt-the-ice hot. LOL.
Hope that helps. I can look earlier if you like.
