SGA Big Bang: progressing.
Jul. 24th, 2010 04:01 amI keep writing scenes that aren't in the outline, but the word count at least is moving upward:
29998 / 40000 words. 75% done!
I think I can get it done in time. I do have a friend coming into town Saturday night. But who needs sleep anyway?
Good news: heard back from two betas. Both agreed that, wow, yeah, your draft is very rough. But they're eager to read more and are enjoying the story.
Thank you. That gets me past my mid-story neurosis.
Er. And I still have 19 scenes to go. I could swear at least one of the scenes I wrote was in the outline....

Since the riders wear leathers for protection against the cold of Between, etc, don't you think they'd probably come up with some kind of goggles? Pern has glass, after all. Or do they get taught to close their eyes before going between? 'Cause I'd think the cold would be very bad for their eyes.
Maybe old riders who haven't taken care of their eyes go blind.
