Things that I do and I don't want to admit:

I didn't want to download Amazon's Cloud Player. I updated to iTunes latest version (what a mistake that was) and ended up with, unasked, their cloud. It's seeded with disconcerting songs I don't want. (But I do readily admit the Doctor Horrible songs were a smart call.)

Then I found Amazon had all the music I'd ever bought from them.

Including music I lost to my ex, WG.

Oh.

Sheepishly I downloaded it, even after being slightly obnoxious to the Amazon chat-rep, "What do you mean I have to download the cloud player when my download yesterday didn't work, I don't want the cloud player, why, iTunes' cloud is irritating, gimme my ninety-nine cent refund" -- oops, the song I'm trying to buy is there already, like you said. Oh, I'm sooo not confessing this.

Then I discovered the music is Tangerine Dream I bought for WG.

A pang of loss startled me. Combined with something I never admitted to WG: relief. I was never fond of his Tangerine Dream. They're okay. Just ... boring.

What I also don't want to admit: I like them better now than I did when I pretended to like them.

Hi Out Of Bounds fans. I have a favor to ask.

Do any of you have the soundtrack to Out Of Bounds?

My ex kept, along with my computer and external drive, all my music. Sigh. And I'd really like to listen to it if at all possible.

Thank you.

Links to the soundtrack -- yes, all of it, though in pieces -- under cut. )

Thank you to [personal profile] bramble_rose and [personal profile] mecurtin and [personal profile] rabidfan and [personal profile] skinscript and everyone for the links.

Musical inspiration

I'm playing with the music for Out Of Bounds at the moment. I have some music for John's final freeskate, but I'm not entirely... settled... on it.

Any suggestions, oh music lovers? The music thus far is:

Rodney
- Stravinsky's Firebird Suite "Danse Infernale"
- Phantom of the Opera "Prima Donna"
- The Andrews Sisters "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy"
- Styx "Mr. Roboto"

John
- Creedence Clearwater Revival "Mustang Sally," "Down on the Corner," "Bad Moon Rising"
- The Clash "The Guns Of Brixton"
- Theme from Platoon, a.k.a., "Adagio for Strings"
- Gavin Rossdale "Adrenaline"

Also...
- Ottmar Liebert "Tango Flamenco" (Rodney's idea, but John liked it)
- Theme from "Get Smart" (Rodney's idea, and John was amused)
- Mancini, Theme from James Bond (also Rodney's idea, and John loved it)

Radek (though not a skater)
- "One Night In Bangkok"

Rodney likes classics, 1940s, broadway show tunes, things with lots of melodrama. His secret guilty pleasure is 80s bubblegum pop from his teens.

John likes music with aggressive tension, instrumental music from movies he recognizes because they tell a story he knows, very heavy rock, and thoughtful country songs with with a blues undertone. His guilty pleasure is cheesy metal from the 80s, AC/DC, Black Sabbath.

They both have a sense of humor and appreciate things like the Ramones cover of the theme from "Spiderman."

ETA: Thank you all so much. I'm now concentrating on movie soundtracks (instrumental) for John.

What movies have some cool themes that you can think of? I have Last of the Mohicans, Memoires of a Geisha, Batman, and Batman Returns -- also Terminator 2.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru's cold has taken a turn for the nasty. I'm screwed. I have no idea how I can avoid catching this. Unfortunately, he's the clingy sort who wants to be close *hack, cough* and be comforted *cough, choke, wheeeze!* when he's not feeling well.

I'm sure I would have caught it anyway.

Funniest quote of the day from [livejournal.com profile] penknife after all the horror of hurricane Katrina: but I'm also grateful right now for whatever quirk of human nature makes so many people use a medium for instantaneous world-wide communication to post pictures of their cats.

LOL! True.

So after a day of collecting links and looking up oil exec emails (we need to ask them if they're going to fund the 100 billion dollar clean-up or if they expect the federal government to do so), I'm taking a breather to work on the Beg Me For It soundtrack.

I have roughly 56 songs picked out. Okay that sounds like a lot but it's about 8-12 per story. I just need three more.

To give you a picture, Beg Me For It (the first part) has a combination of Tool, The Clash, The Smiths, Air, and REM. Hey Youheavy on the Pink Floyd (of course) and Soundgarden, followed by Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Stand In The Ruins and Celebrate Life and then Scarred have Cat Stevens, The Dandy Warhols, and Led Zepplin.

The action-packed SNAFU has Metallica, The Ramones, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Helmet, the Red Hot Chili Peppers... and more Metallica. *g*

It's Death Eater Rock that's the sticking point. Sure, I have Sade and Peter Gabriel and the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Siouxie and the Banshees' sensual "Trust In Me," but three scenes have me stumped:

- The climactic infamous mirror-sex scene, when Ron moves from "what the fuck are you doing?" to "oh wow, this is fucking hot!"
- Ron and Draco's wacky stoned stumbling through the ministry prison in lingerie looking for chocolate.
- Their final intensely soft romantic sex "this is what your first should have been like..." at the very end.

I have no idea what songs to use. Any recommendations?
