Yes. I thought it was probably going to be Sirius.

I think I'm not going to write Snape Manor now. I'm stunned. The description of Sirius' house is so much like what I had in mind for Snape Manor. She had infestations, I had more magical objects. She had screaming portraits of old relatives, I had relatives appearing in reflections - but it's so close to Snape Manor, and the feel of it, that I was totally discouraged as I read those scenes.

On the other hand, the description of the Ministry is exactly what I needed for 'Beg Me For It.' Glad I haven't written 'SNAFU' yet.

Wow that was a good guess. ^^ I thought it was gonna be Hagrid or Ron... I was nowhere near. Oi...

Wow your thoughts on Snape manor is pretty close alright, but why wouldn't you want to continue to write? Oh wait... never mind. Bah. I'm being slow here.

Well, two weeks ago I was convinced it was probably going to be Sirius. I thought, if I were her, who would I kill? But this past week I've waffled.

The reason I wanted to do Snape Manor is that it was such an unusual idea, not directly covered in Canon. Now I feel like it's been done. There's a lot more to the Snape Manor story than the Manor itself, but my idea - I thought - was quite original. Takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.

Read my journal, then read this.

And so, I cannot breathe- I like this angry, angst ridden Harry a lot. and though i felt for bad-assed Snape- I also felt for Sirius and especially James, who I thought was more of a Fred/George Weasley types.
Ugh- we have to talk- email me your number, and we'll talk.

Yay, you've read it! I've been wanting to talk to you about the book. I was *so* flashing on your work when I was reading --- private lessons? snark? Gradual, grudging ambivalence shading into understanding?

I thought of Cybele and others, too. But my god, it's so slashy. It's almost like J.K. Rowling knows, somehow ...

Anyway, Sirius --- I knew, once I started reading the book and she started to pay so much unnecessary attention to him that this was a bad omen. But I still cried.

Wasn't the Black residence great? It had such a physical, textured atmosphere. And Kreacher, what a hoot. His behaviour had me in fits at the start of the book.

So, more SNAFU soon? Didn't you love how Arthur was crammed away from sight? So appropriate for his status.

What about blindedbythelight!Percy, how does he fit in?

No, don't abandon Snape Manor. *wails*

Everyone who's read "Primer..." already knows the kind of house you'd been imagining. Besides the way she writes it, who know if lots of wizards don't have similar houses. Your challenge would be to make Snape's house even worse. ;-)

You can do it, I have faith.

I'm grateful to hear you say that. Really.

I'm going back and forth about it. Part of the story is about Snape's ex, Torvald, which is completely uneffected by the changes. It was just... a punch in the gut to see my story already written. It's such a thrill to take canon and go beyond it, but now canon has caught up with me while I was holding still. I was writing it, but waiting really for when OotP came out since I thought we'd learn more about Snape's backstory and wanted to incorporated it.

Maybe a major rewrite. Less emphasis on the house itself and more on the development of a real relationship between Harry and Severus. Right now all there is, is sex. And a magical connection. Good sex, that has a lot of aspects to it, including a real warmth. But that's not a relationship.

Don't you dare abandon Snape Manor. All you have to do is state that your view of the house came from before OotP. But we NEED you to write this. Oh please.

Okay. That's what I'll do.

Thanks. That's very heartening to hear that people still want to read it.
