Check your kitty food. ASAP.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 09:12 pmCheck your kitty food.
Monte's been turning his nose up at his favorite catfood, Nutro. I thought maybe it had gone bad, so I threw out the packet. Another packet he refused. I noticed it was also fish, so I decided maybe he'd gotten sensitive to fish.
So I put the fish away and gave him turkey. That day he was really hungry so he ate it, and threw it up immediately (fortunately, he treats wet food as a "treat" and won't eat more than a tablespoonful).
Then I caught the news about the pet food recall, and the camera scoped past the brands affected -- and I recognized the label. I blinked.
Concerned, frowning, I went to the FDA website,
Check your cat food.
We have six packets that are on the recall list. Or had. I'm taking them back to the pet food store.
I guess I felt safe from the recall because we don't buy Iams and we have a small label "health food" kitty food. Good thing Monte's smarter than me.
