That new Adult Content rating thingy.

I changed my general settings to Adult Content then looked at my LJ.

All of my posts looked the same, with the same cut-tag. The only difference from one post to the next was the title and the music.

"Wow. What a boring journal," I said.

Eh. Forget it. I turned the settings off.

I have a percentage in being interesting to newcomers. Why read if I'm not?

I figure that between the Buddhism, school stuff, the whacked out mom (did I tell you about the time she told my friend Christopher he was the Antichrist?), David Hewlett videos, figure skating, laughing at George Bush our-new-peace-activist, annoying landlady, recs, memes, forgetting which toothbrush is whose -- yeah, I'm not seeing 50% explicit content. That setting's not for me.

In other news -- what did they do to TampaxTM? These haven't changed in 30 years and they're now... ow. They're short and stubby and too wide and shapped all wrong. Ow. This is not a place I want to hurt.

OMG, you too?! I thought it was just me and my residual resistance to change! I hate when products I've been loyal to for years are suddenly "NEW and IMPROVED" because they're rarely either in my eyes. I really dislike the new tampax. And I used them for years because I *really* dislike all the other products I've tried. So now I'm stuck looking for a suitable substitute. Do a pal a favor, and let me know if you find something, k? I'll do the same for you :)

I've got the Adult Content thing turned on for the moment, but I'm not much liking the idea so I think it'll be off again at some point. Realistically, I'm much more concerned about potential future employers finding my journal than underage kids. Can LJ set up a filter for that? :D

No comment on the Tampax, but have you considered a menstrual cup? Much more comfortable than a tampon and cheaper and more environmentally friendly too! menstrual_cups is a really good resource, if you're interested.

I actually found that the brand I use in Germany (o.b.) is sold in America too when I was there for a year, but that they were longer there. I prefer them the shorter way.
I agree on the fact the NEW and IMPROVED isn't improved at all most of the time.

I'm none too pleased with the change in Tampax, too. But I've tried the other brands and like them even less.

I do like the new applicator though. Easier to get a grip on.

You need to start a letter writing campaign to the bozos who made the change. We want our old-fashioned tampons back!

I have to use Kotex - the Tampax cardboard applicator always seemed to *stick* to me, and the plastic one worked SO much better. I use the Super Plus *in addition to* a long super maxi pad *with wings* because I have a ridiculously heavy, although non-crampy, flow.

Hehe, I've never found any tampon that was comfortable, in any country. Guess that makes me strange in many regards :P

Pfft, they need a 20% adult content rating for journals, for those that sometimes have it - more often than never, but not so often as to be mostly. As for the rest? Meh. At least you have variety in your posts.

If you go to the "Do not filter content" option in your journal setting, you won't see any lj cuts at all. My age is up, my adult comments aren't collapsed, and my content isn't filtered. I have not seen one single solitary difference from what I ever did before on my journal or anyone else's.
